Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Select Royal Maids platform ("Platform"), website, or any related services, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Platform. These Terms apply to all users including employers, domestic professionals (maids), and visitors. Select Royal Maids reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Subscription and Fees: To initiate a placement request, the Client must pay a non-refundable service subscription/registration fee of N10,000 for the Standard package or N20,000 for the Premium package. Upon payment, the Agency will share a maximum of 1 to 3 shortlisted profiles matching the Client's criteria, followed by telephonic and personal interviews. •
Agency Commission: An agency commission equivalent to 10% of the worker's total annual salary is strictly due and payable to Select Royal Maids Agency immediately upon the worker's resumption of duties.
Confidentiality & Third-Party Hiring: Candidate introductions are strictly confidential. If the Client introduces a candidate presented by the Agency to a third party, and that third party subsequently hires the candidate (full-time or part-time), the Client remains legally liable to pay the full placement and service charges to the Agency.
Compensation and Remittance: For regular classes, salary must be paid directly to the worker once confirmed with the agency, and receipts must be preserved. For Priority Class Maids, the Agency manages compensation through its structured payroll with uniform fixed rates. If a worker leaves employment before the monthly due date through no fault of their own, the Client is legally liable to pay prorated wages for the exact number of days worked. If the worker's place of origin exceeds 15 kilometers from the work site, the Client must cover the worker's transport costs
Scope of Work & Job Description: Prior to deployment, the Client must submit a definitive 'job description' and an agreed-upon salary. The Client is strictly prohibited from expanding the work scope or reducing the salary post-deployment. If a worker terminates employment because they were forced to perform duties outside the agreed job description, the Agency will deny any replacement or refund requests.
Contract Validity & Renewal: Contracts are valid for one (1) year for live-in services and six (6) months for live-out or part-time services, renewable upon expiration. No renewal fees are charged if the Client continues using the same worker post-contract expiration. Maids agree and understands that Employer is mandated to deduct 25% of the Maid's last salary if the Maid opts out of the contract less than 6 months into the contract for live-in arrangement and less than 3 months into the contract for live-out arrangement.
Dispute Resolution Limitation: The Agency operates strictly as a hiring and matching platform. The Agency, its employees, and associates will not mediate, arbitrate, or involve themselves in resolving contractual, behavioral, or disciplinary disputes arising between the Client and the worker during or after the employment term. Such disputes must be resolved mutually or through formal legal channels.
Contract Termination & Outstanding Balances: Before any replacement worker can be dispatched, all outstanding salary balances owed to the previous worker must be fully cleared. The Agency will suspend all services if balances remain unpaid. Furthermore, warranties and replacement clauses are rendered entirely void if the worker terminates employment due to Client misconduct, contract breaches, or hostile working conditions.
Eligibility
To use the Select Royal Maids Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a resident or legally operating within the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
- Not have been previously suspended or removed from the Platform.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
User Accounts
When you create an account on our Platform, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Ensuring the accuracy of all information in your profile.
SelectRoyal Maids reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent activity.
Employer Terms
As an employer using our Platform, you agree that:
- You will use the Platform solely to find and hire legitimate domestic staff for lawful household purposes.
- You will treat all candidates with dignity and respect throughout the hiring process.
- You will not discriminate against candidates on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- You will honour any agreements made with candidates through the Platform.
- You will comply with all applicable Nigerian labour laws and employment regulations.
- Placement fees paid to SelectRoyal Maids are non-refundable except as specified in our Refund Policy.
- SelectRoyal Maids acts as an intermediary only and is not an employer of any domestic professional listed on the Platform.
Maid & Professional Terms
As a domestic professional registered on our Platform, you agree that:
- All information you provide, including identity documents and references, is accurate and genuine.
- You will submit to our verification process and cooperate fully with background checks.
- You will only apply for positions that match your stated skills and experience.
- You will behave professionally and respectfully with all employers and SelectRoyal Maids staff.
- You will not engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal conduct.
- Registration on our Platform is free. We will never charge you a placement fee.
Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are strictly prohibited on the SelectRoyal Maids Platform:
- Creating fake, duplicate, or misleading profiles.
- Submitting forged or altered identity documents.
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing any user or SelectRoyal Maids staff.
- Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose including human trafficking or forced labour.
- Soliciting payments outside the official platform payment system.
- Scraping, copying, or reproducing Platform content without written permission.
- Introducing malware, viruses, or harmful code to the Platform.
- Circumventing any security or access controls on the Platform.
Violations of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement authorities.
Intellectual Property
All content on the SelectRoyal Maids Platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is the property of SelectRoyal Maids or its content suppliers and is protected by Nigerian and international copyright laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our express written permission.
Limitation of Liability
SelectRoyal Maids acts as an intermediary connecting employers with domestic professionals. We make no guarantee regarding:
- The suitability, conduct, or performance of any domestic professional after placement.
- The accuracy of information provided by users on the Platform.
- Uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, SelectRoyal Maids shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability in any matter shall not exceed the placement fee paid by you in the relevant transaction.
Termination
SelectRoyal Maids reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to users, third parties, or the integrity of the Platform.
You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Termination of your account does not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
